When the self-expression-focused cosmetics brand we've all come to know and love as Milk Makeup first dropped its Blur Stick, it instantly became a fan-favorite product in the makeup community. Its chic frosted packaging coupled with its rare ability to impart a "filtered" effect on the skin before applying any base makeup, swiftly earned it a best-selling spot for the brand. And now, after seeing so much success with its OG formula, Milk is back with a new rendition of the complexion-perfecting primer, dubbed its Luminous Blur Stick.
The name says it all — sort of. Meant to provide both mattifying and luminizing properties, this primer is basically the best of both worlds. How does it work? I'm glad you asked. Similiar to the original version, Luminous Blur contains blurring microspheres which work to absorb oil and mattify the skin, leaving the wearer with a velvety-smooth, shine-free surface. Unlike Blur Stick numero uno, however, the just-released primer is infused with golden pearl (casual), which creates a subtle angelic glow that appears neither greasy nor oily, but ethereal — as if the light is hitting your skin just right at all times.
The best part: All skin types can reap its blurring-meets-highlighting benefits. According to a press release from Milk sent to Allure, people with parched skin should simply apply moisturizer first, and then apply, while those with oily complexions can go right in with the stick on bare skin. Combo folks, on the other hand, can dot the product onto areas where they need it most, such as the shine-prone t-zone.
